RE: Low point drains?

Where they are location would depend upon the make of your trailer. George pointed out where their probably are generally located on a trailer. On my Jayco they are located at freshwater tank (middle of right side) and at rear of trailer.

RE: Jayco warranty

Had warranty work done on my Jayco Flight from dealer who I did not buy it from. No problem with warranty work. On any non-warranty work told the dealer not to do any unless I approved it before he did any non-warranty work. Worked for me and dealer. Get rules up front and shouldn't have any suprises.

Ditto the Ford Diesel solution with accordian door. My bro was so impressed with it and fed up with the plastic sheet, he installed one on his FW. Happy Trails!

RE: Do Rotochoks offer real extra benefits??

Owned a set for my previous TT and did not see that much/if any difference when using them. It was a 25RKS and moved up to 31 BHDS. However, some folks swear by em, but I'll go sans.

RE: Nervous about diesels

Why don't you check out this site for info on Ford Diesel Trucks? http://www.thedieselstop.com/ IMHOP diesel power is the way to go. Have friends who swear by their Fords and between ford/dodge/chevy is whichever one you like. I love the chevy durmax/allison combo.

RE: Considering Chevy 2500 HD

Fix might be nothing more than lubing the splines on the driveshaft where it goes into the case first. It's easy, does not cost anything but 15 minutes of time/grease, and it helps with the rearended feeling at stop signs.
Very likely the slipyoke is sticking, so lubing the heck out of the slines will fix the clunk if that the problem. Want more info check problem at http://www.dieselplace.com/forum. Good luck!

RE: Trying to avoid Dallas/Fort Worth.

For what it's worth I live NE DFW area and my recommendation would be: From I20 (Lindale, TX) take US 69 North to Greenville, TX. From Greenville take US 380 West to Decater, TX where you will take US81 West to Amarillo. Happy Trails!!

RE: diesel prices

Yep, $$$ is consideration, but will fit in my trips to hunt & fish. TT is the best things that happened with me in boondock housing. But will continue to think about the TT trip to Rockies & Montana.

RE: Would you buy a diesel again (second time)

I'm forever in the diesel camp. Diesel $$$ more, but my 2005 2500HD D/A 4x4 is still much cheeper to operate then my previous 2004 2500HD 6.0L Eng w/4.10 tranny. That gasser was a real dog that wouldn't hunt when compared to the diesel.

RE: 2500HD needs some more giddyup for towing

Well I had 2004 2500HD with 6.0L/4.10 and it was forever searching for a gear while slowing down on hills. Going into the wind the engine was forever screaming and I do mean SCREAMING. Traded in on 2005 2500HD Duramax/Allison and will never regret getting the diesel even with diesel outta sight. Better fuel milage offsets the higher diesel price. Get a diesel and will be a very happey camper on the tow.

RE: Oklahoma State parks

Agree the web sites for OK Parks leave much to be desired. And a real pain is not being able to get a reservation; however, am sure it cuts down on cost to operate the RV/etc sites. Planning on going to Lake Texoma State Park in Jun and the 1st come rule applies. You just show up and drive thru the park to you find an acceptable spot and set up, then register at the office. No KOA guide service but the price is certainly lower. Maybe I should be prepared for some dry camping just in case. LOL!!!!

RE: Tow/Haul Setting on Chevy 2500HD

ditto countrykid's remarks. Had this feature on past and current truck and never had problem with. If I don't use T/H mode with my Allison tranny when towing a load, the tranny will run hotter. In this mode the tranny is not always shearching for correct gear as the shift point are increased when when in T/H mode.

RE: How do you add fresh water when boondocking??

You might want to check the fresh water intake on your unit. On my previous TT, a Fleetwood, the intake hose was crimped and it was a very difficult job to add water from my water containers. Was under warranty and dealer corrected for me. I use a large funnel with hose to add water - 2 person op.

Trailer Cargo Carrier

Found new use for my Cargo Carrier. Had it constructed of heavy metal (2x2 pipe) and hung on TT with two receivers welded to TT I-Beam frame. Well on trip home yesterday from fishing trip stopped at traffic light and received an darn good jolt after coming to a stop. What the heck? Got out walked back to determine cause/damage to rear end. Found a red face Missourian who apologized for the bump but no damage to the cargo carrier/TT. Don't think the TT bumper/sewer hose holder would have held up that well.

RE: First Trip - '08 Jayco Jayflight 30BHS

Always nice to hear from happy campers/owners. Had my Jayco 20yrs now and it's a good solid TT. Had a couple of warranty issues which Jayco took care of. Have made some modifications for personal preference (e.g., lowered TV cabinet, etc). The slide with bunks really opens up the rear area on mine. May you have only good times with the TT. Certainly would not want be be in your place in down sizing. Our retirement home is 1/2 size of previous home and we outfitted a couple of college grads with stuff. Still have gotta have room for Bass Boat, ATVs, utility Trailer, etc. so don't envision being a full timer. But.. you guys enjoy the freedom.
